The Bedroom Lighting Challenge
This was a lighting challenge that I did when I first started lighting. This lighting challenge was rendered in Mental Ray and textured with Maya procedurals and Photoshop then composited in Nuke.
The theme of this lighting challenge was "Room of a Gamer." Most gamers tend to be up pretty late at night so I wanted to do a night scene to capture the mood and environment.
The original lighting file had an older computer monitor, so I replaced it with an updated model so that the scene felt more anchored in the present day.
The scene got pretty heavy rendering-wise because I didn't know much about optimization at the time, so I plan on eventually going back and touching it up.
